Hi! Amarillo resident here… hit up downtown at night (Polk street). The bars are all right next to each other, so if you’ve had enough of one, move on. They range from a dueling piano bar (Mayfair) to DJ’s mixin it up till 4 am (Chateau) and plenty of martinis and live bands in between. If you want to get away from the familiar and really experience what you imagine Amarillo to be, Midnight Rodeo will do it. Expect to two-step in a circle. But do please be warned - it’s nicknamed “Midnight Rope-a-Hoe” for a reason. If you need a hangover cure the next day in a form of a delicious greasy burger, don’t leave town without going to Blue Sky. Have fun!
